Lighting Unpacked

enLighten's Products and Services

In this quarterly update, we explore how enLighten’s innovative products and tailored services are helping clients overcome complex lighting challenges—from modular site systems and coastal-grade fittings to full-spectrum solutions and expert design support.

enConnect

Lighting requirements on a construction site are dynamic, enConnect offers a robust, customisable lighting system tailored to meet your site’s particular requirements. Whether for general illumination or emergency egress routes—enConnect will ensure safety and compliance in even the most demanding environments.

enConnect isn’t a standard 1 product offering in a box. It is a series of components that have all been carefully selected and/or specifically designed to meet multiple different installation requirements and site settings. Considerations include:

  • whether the lights are mounted on a wall or a cable tray
  • normal or extended emergency light operation time
  • located in an underground maintenance tunnel in a humid environment, a 2 km road tunnel during the construction phase or a multi-level scaffold accessing bridge pylons
  • compliance with AS 3000, AS3012, or specific Union safety requirements

We’ve dealt with them all.

Many customers objective is to reduce what can traditionally take hours to install, into a couple of minutes.

The Rozelle Interchange showcased enConnect’s adaptability in a demanding tunnel environment. Over 11,500 emergency and highbay lights were installed using a flexible, omnidirectional connection system, also included are custom brackets and integrated coloured LEDs to enhance safety.

How do you make a great light even greater?

The Zorro 2 fitting has already earned a reputation for reliability and value. To improve its versatility, we’ve upgraded it to for marine and coastal installations.

To achieve this, we put the Zorro 2 through a multi-stage protection process:

  • Electrophoresis coating: the fitting is submerged in a water-based protective bath, with an electric current ensuring an even coat
  • Powder resin fusion: a powdered resin is applied and heat-bonded to create a seamless, durable shield
  • Rigorous salt-spray testing: exposed to 1,000 hours of simulated harsh conditions, proving its resilience against corrosion

This upgrade isn’t just theoretical; they’re already making a difference.

One standout example is The Coast to Lake Walk in The Entrance. 44 of our Zorro 2 fittings were installed along Marine Parade over 12 months ago and despite exposure to sea spray and coastal winds, the fittings have maintained their performance and appearance.

“The lights installed at The Entrance have made a massive improvement to the lighting output and are a pleasurable upgrade from the old, outdated lights we previously had. So much so that The Entrance is looking at a further upgrade to this site.”

What is Full Spectrum Lighting?

Full spectrum lighting is designed to mimic the characteristics of natural daylight by covering the entire visible light spectrum. Unlike standard artificial lighting, which often produces a narrow band of wavelengths, full spectrum lamps provide a balanced mix of colours similar to sunlight. This creates a more natural and comfortable visual environment and ensures colours appear accurate and vibrant, similar to how they look under sunlight.

Why is it Beneficial?

The main advantage of full spectrum lighting is its ability to replicate the quality of daylight indoors. This improves visual comfort, reduces eye strain, and enhances colour perception, which is critical for tasks requiring accuracy. It also helps maintain a natural circadian rhythm, supporting alertness during the day. In commercial spaces, this can lead to better occupant satisfaction and productivity, making it a strong selling point for clients seeking energy-efficient and human-centric lighting solutions.

Health and Well-being Benefits

Full spectrum lighting can positively impact mood and energy levels by simulating natural daylight, which influences serotonin and melatonin production. This is particularly valuable in enclosed environments with limited access to windows. Studies have shown that exposure to daylight-like lighting can reduce fatigue and improve overall well-being.

Lighting Design Made Simple

Smart, beautiful, and efficient lighting tailored to your space.
We design lighting that enhances safety, comfort, and aesthetics while reducing energy use. Our process begins by understanding how your space is used—whether for work, leisure, or public movement—and the atmosphere you want to create. From there, we tailor brightness, colour temperature, and colour accuracy to suit your needs. Our team works directly from your plans and coordinates with other services to ensure smooth installation and minimal clashes.

LCA Accreditation

Lighting Council Australia (LCA) stands at the forefront of shaping a high-quality, sustainable, and responsible lighting industry in Australia.

Its new accreditation program is designed to ensure that participating companies meet strict requirements around product safety, regulatory compliance, environmental responsibility, and quality assurance.

We are proud to step forward with LCA, striving for the same goal of smarter and safer LED lighting.
