A Parcel Distribution Centre (PDC) for Australia Post serves as a critical hub for sorting, handling, and distributing parcels efficiently within a specific region. PDCs use conveyor belts, lifts, turntables, and scanning systems to mechanize the sorting process, reducing manual intervention and enabling high throughput of parcels per hour

Access to remove the existing lights and positioning the new luminaires proved quite challenging due to the positioning of the automated sorting equipment. MPE Group organised for 3 different types of elevated work platforms to ensure the new luminaires were installed in their correct location.

The enLighten design team designed a solution that met both the lux levels and uniformity specified by Australia Post to ensure the workers were provided with an environment that reduced fatigue, enhanced safety and improved overall work performance. 

The designers selected a higher power low glare HB119 highbay, replacing the older lower power LED lights.  The new design resulted in a reduction of 137 lights whilst significantly improving the lighting outcome and reducing energy consumption.
