The benefits of LED lighting

LED lighting provides a range of benefits over traditional lighting.

The most significant of these is the low energy use and the long life cycle. With energy cost soaring and governments around the world focused on reducing green house gases, LED lighting installation qualifies for a range of subsidies

Being more efficient - LED's convert more energy into light - they produce less heat and this has a significant impact on air conditioning costs.

Many city based buildings are operating at maximum available power. Upgrading power supplies is expensive and time consuming - it makes much more sense to reduce current energy needs to meet areas of demand that require additional supplies.

Smarter, safer, greener

Lower running costs

LED lighting is very efficient, providing cost savings of up to 90% compared to some forms of lighting and over 50% more efficient than traditional fluorescent tubes.

Long life / No maintenance

LEDs can last in excess of 100,000 hours. It is common for LED office lighting to have a life expectancy exceeding 40,000 to 50,000 hours. This is over 5 years, if you leave it turned on 24/7.

Reduced load on air conditioning

LEDs produce much less heat than incandescent or fluorescent lighting. In an air conditioned environment such as an office, this has a signifcant impact on the cost of running the air conditioning.

Improved building efficiency rating

The energy savings created by LEDs make it possible to improve a building's Green Star and/or NABERS ratings. Better building ratings are essential for many prospective lessees.

No hazardous chemicals

Fluorescent tubes contain both Mercury and Phosphor, both of which are harmful to health. LEDs contain no hazardous chemicals.

No noise

No flicker Led tubes make no noise and do not flicker, providing a better more comfortable work environment.

Less CO2

The combination of energy savings with LED lighting combine to provide a very efficient lighting system that results in lower CO2 production.
