Chamaeleon III through to national technology competition finals

Released: 07-Sep-2015

enLighten Australia's new Chamaeleon III muti mode luminaire with self test capability for emergency models and mobile app for light control settings is listed among 4 finalists in the Alumni category of the 2015 Australian Technologies Competition.

The national competition finds, mentors and promotes Australia’s best emerging technology companies focussed on driving industry efficiency and competitiveness. The 120+ entrants each provided solutions for the Advanced Manufacturing, Built Environment, Energy, Food & Agritech, Global Development & Mining sectors.

enLighten Australia was the sole finalist representing lighting  or  lighting control technologies.  The awards are supported by the Lighting Council of Australia, the national industry association  as a marketing partner and was open to all members and non members.

The Australian LED lighting market  is rapidly expanding, as evidenced by LED lighting retrofits representing the largest single activity to produce energy savings certificates under the NSW Energy Savings Scheme. The Scheme delivers a financial rebate to project hosts following documented energy savings for commercial lighting upgrades that meet Australian Building Code standards & use accredited lighting products.

enLighten CEO Steve Cahill reflects on the finalist shortlisting. " As the LED lighting market matures and commoditises, we are seeing an explosion of low cost imports with little technology innovation. Following our 2012 win, we have continued to innovate in the area of integrated smart controls to offer the new Chamaeleon III."

"We're very excited to be able to deliver industry leading functionality such as emergency self test  and control of light level settings via mobile app for back of house lighting in areas such as fire stairs, car parks & corridors."adds Steve.

The finalists  will now battle-it-out in front of a live audience in the final round of the annual competition to be held in Sydney on October 20th, prior to the evening gala Showcase & Awards Event.

For the Alumni award, enLighten is up against the following innovative technologies:

Raygen Resources
High efficiency Solar PV conversion technology
Nexus ewater  Domestic grey water & heat recycling technology
 Z-filter De-watering & filtering  waste processing technology
