Chamaeleon light IP65 fitting re-design offers new benefits

Released: 21-Aug-2014

The new Chamaeleon design has allowed for an IP65 connection socket to be built into the light. Previously, the IP65 socket & plug connector were external & allowed for manual disconnection.

IP or "Ingress Protection" ratings are used to define levels of sealing effectiveness of electrical enclosures against intrusion from foreign bodies (tools, dirt etc) and moisture. The IP65 rating means that the light is fully protected against dust and water jets projected by a nozzle from any direction.

Benefits of the new design include the ability to fit a vandal proof skirt to the IP65 fitting and an easier installation due to the fitting being 500g lighter.

The IP65 models are suited to external applications such as car parks & outdoor walkways. The IP65 is an optional extra that can be applied to any model in the standard, emergency & permanently on range.
